Welcome to The Speech and Social Studio, where I believe in getting to know each child as a whole person and taking the time to understand their strengths, interests, and individual needs. I provide personalized in-home speech and language therapy focused on purposeful, functional skills that can be carried into everyday life.
I believe families and caregivers are an essential part of the therapy process. By partnering closely with families and incorporating their goals, priorities, and insights, I can provide therapy that is individualized to each client.
Together, we focus on helping children, teens, and young adults work toward individualized speech and language goals that support how they communicate, understand, and connect with others. My emphasis is on functional skills that can be used beyond the therapy session.
In addition to individual therapy, I will offer small-group therapy opportunities for clients working toward similar social communication goals. These groups will provide a supportive space to practice skills with peers, strengthen social communication, build confidence, and develop positive connections with others.
Our Approach:
I provide individualized speech and language evaluations to better understand each client’s communication strengths and areas of need.
Evaluations help identify specific areas of difficulty, provide an appropriate diagnosis when applicable, and establish clear, functional goals to guide individualized therapy.

Social Skills Groups
I will be offering a space for social skills groups for clients who are working toward similar pragmatic language goals. Groups will provide a supportive opportunity to practice pragmatic communication skills, build confidence, and connect with peers.

Meet Your SLP:
Hi! I’m Nicole Turner-Roark M.A. CCC-SLP, a Speech-Language Pathologist with 10 years of experience working with children and their families.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from La Salle University in Philadelphia and my Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Hofstra University in New York. I began my career in a pediatric outpatient clinic before becoming a traveling Speech-Language Pathologist. Traveling gave me the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and with children with diverse communication needs. Throughout my career, I have gained experience in pediatric inpatient and outpatient care, acute care, early intervention, home health, and elementary and middle school settings. Each setting taught me something new and helped shape the way I approach therapy today.
Having worked across so many environments, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is for speech and language therapy to focus on practical, functional skills that can carry over into a child’s everyday life. This experience is a big part of what inspired me to open The Speech and Social Studio and provide individualized therapy that meets each child and family where they are.
My areas of expertise include early language development, childhood apraxia of speech, receptive and expressive language disorders, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and pragmatic (social) language. I’m passionate about creating supportive, engaging therapy that helps children build confidence, communicate effectively, and feel successful in their everyday interactions. Outside of work, I love being outdoors with my husband and our two dogs.
INSURANCE AND BILLING
The Speech and Social Studio is currently out of network with insurance providers. Insurance companies often provide out of network benefits. We are able to provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursements.
We currently accept cash, check, and debit payments as well as HSA/FSA cards.
